HUDEF means “breaking from the cocoon and into a butterfly” in Chinese and was also the name given to our founder, a strong, brave and very kind warrior in the East named Hudef. When faced with a difficult situation, Hudef would draw inspiration from his father who told him to be strong and brave and to “never give up.” Hudef was determined to focus on making positive changes and contributions to society.

Overcoming many difficulties in life, Hudef felt that the best way for him to fulfill his mission was to focus on his passion for sports and athletics and, more specifically, the relatively young sport of pickleball. His journey took him to Seattle, Washington, where the game was invented and where he realized that pickleball was the perfect game to promote health and wellness for everyone, both young and old.

Hudef decided to focus his passion on the new sport and develop new products, including paddles and gear. This is when he created HUDEF, the company, in Colorado, which would quickly become a worldwide sports brand.

The brand’s mission is simple: Spread positive energy and show respect for all players by making the best paddles, gear and accessories to help people of all ages enjoy the sport of pickleball.
